10-06-16: Gemini Extension to Open October 13
The new Gemini/Ikea Way Extension through the old Polaris Amphitheater will open on Thursday, October 13. Once this new road is open, Worthington Road between Polaris Parkway and Gemini will close for 60 days to complete the last phase of the project. Trips between the interchange and areas north of Polaris Parkway should use Gemini/I-71. Trips on Polaris Parkway or south of Polaris should use Polaris/I-71.
09-23-16: Big Walnut Road to Close at Highland Hills Drive for 8 Weeks
The Big Walnut Road will be closed beginning Monday 9/26 between Whispering Trail and Grand Oak Blvd./Willow Bend Lane for 8 weeks while crews cut down a hill in the road and add turn lanes at the intersection. Motorists can detour using either Worthington to Lewis Center to Africa Road (to the north), or Worthington to Africa Road (to the south) depending on the destination.
08-10-16: East Powell Rd. Closes and Worthington Rd. Reopens August 17
The next phase of the Gemini Place extension will involve a closure of East Powell Road between Bale Kenyon Road and Worthington Road beginning August 17. This work will realign Powell Road north to a new intersection at Worthington Road. The work will take approximately 30 days.
Worthington Road will reopen before the morning commute on August 17, and Powell Road will close. Access to the Prep Academy will be provided with a temporary driveway from Worthington Road. Homes to the west of this area will access from the Bale Kenyon end. The posted detour route for through traffic will use Bale Kenyon Road to Lewis Center to Africa Road. Truck traffic is cautioned to use Old State to Orange Road as there is a low clearance bridge under I-71 on the designated detour route.
07-07-16: Worthington Road to Close July 18 at Powell Road for 30 days
The intersection of Worthington Road and Powell Road will close on July 18 for about 30 days as ODOT constructs the tie-in for the Gemini Place extension into Worthington Road. The posted detour route for through traffic will use Africa Road to Polaris Parkway.
07-06-16: South Old State Road to Close July 13 for 6 Weeks
South Old State Road will close between Courtland Drive and Peachblow Road beginning Wednesday, July 13. Work to improve a vertical curve at the proposed entrance to the Old Harbor Estates subdivision will require about 6 weeks to complete. Traffic cannot be maintained due to the elevation difference between the existing and rebuilt road surface.
05-31-16: 2016 Road Improvement Program Schedule
Work beginning on pavement repairs and resurfacing on various county and township roads in Delaware County. A project schedule will be available on the project web page showing the dates when work is to be done. Be aware that weather delays may change the dates slightly.
11-17-15: Sawmill Parkway To Close Between Attucks Drive and State Route 750 (Powell Road) Thursday Night (11/19) from 9pm to 6am
Sawmill Parkway will be closed for storm sewer work in conjunction with the widening of State Route 750 (Powell Road) at Sawmill Parkway. The road will be closed to traffic between Attucks Drive and Sawmill Parkway from 9pm on Thursday 11/19 to 6am on Friday 11/20. The posted detour route uses Attucks Drive, “Old” Sawmill Road, and State Route 750.
