Project Description
Planned extension of Piatt Road north from Cheshire Road to Berlin Station Road. The project will also include a single-lane modern roundabout at Cheshire Road.
Construction Updates
Piatt Road is now open between Glenmead Drive and Berlin Station Road, including access to Olentangy Berlin High School.
Phase 2 of construction will begin in spring 2019 with construction of the rest of the road between Cheshire Road and Glenmead Drive. The intersection of Cheshire Road and Piatt Road will close in June for about 2 months to construct a new single lane roundabout. All work is scheduled to be complete by August 2019 with the new road open for the beginning of the 2019-20 school year.
Public Involvement Meetings
Public Information Meeting Scheduled for October 24, 2017:
The Delaware County Engineer’s Office would like to invite you to an informational meeting regarding planned improvements to extend Piatt Road from Cheshire Road to Berlin Station Road. The project also includes a modern roundabout to be constructed at the intersection of Piatt and Cheshire Roads. Maps and other information will be available for your review. The meeting will be held:

The meeting will be an open house format. There will be no formal presentation; you are free to come and go as your schedule allows.
Representatives from the County Engineer’s Office and the design consultant will be available to answer your questions about the project. If you are unable to attend the meeting the information provided will also be available after October 24 on the Delaware County Engineer’s website.
So that we can incorporate any necessary changes into the proposed plans, please provide any comments you have about the project no later than November 17, 2017.

Construction and Road Closure Information
Phase 1 of the project will include building the new road between the Glenmead subdivision and Berlin Station Road. The construction of this phase will not impact any existing traffic.
Phase 2 will require the intersection of Cheshire Road and Piatt Road to be closed during the summer of 2019 for construction of a new single-lane modern roundabout.

Right-of-way acquisition: November 2017 to May 2018
Utility relocation: September 2018 to December 2018

Estimated Project Cost
The total estimated project cost is $4 million. Delaware County has received a grant from the Ohio Public Works Commission for about $490,000 toward construction of the road.
