Piatt Road (Berlin Township) will be CLOSED from Glenmead Drive to Preston Fields Drive including these intersections for up to 2 weeks beginning Monday 4/29 as part of American Electric Power’s replacement of the 345 kV transmission line that was damaged by the severe storms several weeks ago. This is a high priority project to maintain reliability in the Central Ohio electric grid before peak summer season usage. Stringing the new transmission lines will require work over and within the roadway.
The closure will be in effect weekdays beginning Monday 4/29 from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM and again from 4:00 PM thru 8:00 PM. Weekend closures will be 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
Berlin High School: Traffic entering/exiting from the north or Berlin Station Road will not be impacted. If you must go to/from the south on Piatt Road, you should expect delays with closure of the section between the middle and high school.
Berlin Middle School: Traffic should enter to/from the south on Piatt Road. If you must go to/from the north on Piatt Road, you should expect delays with closure of the section between the middle and high school.
Cheshire Elementary School: Traffic should enter/exit from Gregory Road via Berlin Station Road when possible; otherwise use Glenmead Drive to Piatt Road south.
Flaggers will be on-site to help assist Students, Parents and Emergency Vehicles to travel the area during the closure periods, but some delays should be expected.
