Project Description
The intersection of Harriott Road and Concord Road has poor sight distance caused by deficient horizontal and vertical alignment of Harriott Road. In addition, the bridge on Harriott Road located between the north and south legs of Concord Road is in poor structural condition and need to be replaced.
Preliminary traffic projections by the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission show significant population and traffic growth in nearby areas, forcing this intersection to carry additional traffic in the 20 year planning horizon.
Description of the Work:
Phase 1: Replacement of the bridge on Harriott Road located between the north and south legs of Concord Road
Phase 2: Construction of a single-lane roundabout at Concord Road (south).
Project Location:
The project site is located at the intersection of Harriott Road (County Road 131) and Concord Road (Township Road 129) about 2 miles north of Dublin, Ohio.
Construction Updates
02-18-2014: Phase 2 Roundabout Construction to Start July 2014
The second phase of improvements to Harriott Road will begin in July 2014 with construction of a new single-lane modern roundabout at the intersection with Concord Road (south). Construction will take about 3 months to complete and will involve a full closure of the intersection. More information, including construction dates, will be posted when it is available.
10-24-2012: Harriott Road to Close between North and South Concord Road on October 29 for 6 weeks:
Harriott Road will close between the north and south legs of Concord Road beginning October 29 for about 6 weeks for replacement of a bridge. Crews are expected to complete the new bridge and reopen the road by December 14.
This project is the first phase of planned improvements to this section of Harriott Road which includes a roundabout at the intersection with the south leg of Concord Road. The awkward alignment of Harriott Road in this area creates a safety hazard for the traveling public. The project is intended to address both the safety and future traffic flow needs in this area. Construction on the roundabout is planned to begin in 2014.
Road Closure Information:
Harriott Road will be closed for about 6 weeks for the replacement of the bridge during Phase 1 in 2012. Harriott Road will close again for Phase 2 for about 3 months to construct the roundabout in 2014.

Delaware County has contracted with CH2M Hill, Inc. of Columbus, Ohio to prepare construction plans for the project.
