10-29-2012: Harriott Road Closure Delayed Until 11/5 due to Weather:
Due to forecasted rain and wind storms, the closure of Harriott Road is delayed until November 5. The road will be closed for about 6 weeks to replace a bridge between North and South Concord Road.
10-24-2012: Harriott Road to Close between North and South Concord Road on October 29 for 6 weeks:
Harriott Road will close between the north and south legs of Concord Road beginning October 29 for about 6 weeks for replacement of a bridge. Crews are expected to complete the new bridge and reopen the road by December 14.
This project is the first phase of a planned improvement of this section of Harriott Road which includes a roundabout at the intersection with the south leg of Concord Road. The awkward alignment of Harriott Road in this area creates a safety hazard for the traveling public. The project is intended to address both the safety and future traffic flow needs in this area. Construction on the roundabout is planned to begin in 2014.
09-18-2012: Cheshire Road to Close at 3B’s & K on September 26 for 6 weeks:
The final phase of construction on the new single lane roundabout at the intersection of Cheshire Road and South 3B’s & K Intersection will begin September 26. The work will require closure of the intersection for about 6 weeks to allow crews to construct the center island of the roundabout and rebuild the Cheshire Road approaches to the intersection. All legs of the intersection will remain closed until mid-November when the roundabout is scheduled to open.
07-27-2012: South 3B’s & K Road to Close South of Cheshire Road August 6 for 4 months:
Construction of a new single lane modern roundabout at the intersection of Cheshire Road and South 3B’s & K Road will begin August 6. 3B’s & K Road south of the intersection will be the first road to close for construction, and will remain closed for the duration of the project. 07-16-2012: Old State Road Resurfacing Begins This Week:
Resurfacing of Old State Road from Orange Road to U.S. 36 will begin July 16. One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times. Road work will be limited to off-peak hours in the areas south of Cheshire Road. The resurfacing will take about 2 weeks to complete.
The resurfacing will include chip sealing of the existing pavement to seal cracks prior to the asphalt overlay. Please drive slowly in areas with freshly placed gravel. We appreciate your patience during this work!
06-08-2012: South Old State Road to Reopen on Monday June 11:
South Old State Road is scheduled to reopen to traffic Monday June 11 at 5:00 pm, four days ahead of schedule.
06-07-12: 2012 Road Improvement Program to Begin June 11:
Work will begin the week of June 11 on resurfacing various county and township roads in Delaware County. The first phase of work will include pavement repairs and chip sealing on various roads. More information will be posted as construction progresses on this project.
05-22-2012: South Old State Road to Close Between Lewis Center & Hollenback Road May 29 to June 15:
South Old State Road will close May 29 for replacement of a culvert located 1/2 mile south of Hollenback Road (just south of Hidden Cove and Avonlea). The posted detour route uses Lewis Center Road to U.S. 23 to Peachblow Road, and the reverse.
05-21-2012: Home Road at Concord Rd to Close May 24 for 9 weeks:
The intersection of Home and Concord Roads will close beginning May 24 for 9 weeks while crews replace an existing bridge on Home Road just west of the intersection and finish construction of the single lane roundabout. The project is expected to be complete in early August.
05-01-2012: Posted Weight Limits Lifted:
Due to the unseasonably warm weather this winter and spring, the 40 percent weight restrictions on certain township roads have been lifted effective May 1. Ohio law allows that the weight limit on certain roads can be reduced to prevent damage to roads during times of the spring thaw when roads are most susceptible to damage from heavy loads.
04-19-2012: Plumb Road Now Open:
Plumb Road opened to traffic this afternoon. The project was completed two weeks ahead of schedule and under budget.
04-12-2012: Concord Road North of Home Rd to Close April 18 to August 17:
Concord Road will close north of Home Road beginning on Wednesday, April 18 and last through the end of construction on the project. Work on this section of road will include constructing the north approach to the new roundabout and replacing an existing multi-cell culvert bridge.
The next phase of the project is expected to start in May and includes a closure of the entire intersection lasting through August 17 when the project is scheduled to be completed.
03-29-2012: Concord Road South of Home Rd to Close April 2 to August 17:
Concord Road will be closed south of Home Road beginning on Monday, April 2. The closure will last for about 4-1/2 months as crews begin the first phase of a project to construct a single lane roundabout at the intersection of Home and Concord Roads, and replace two existing bridges.
The next phase of the project will include a closure of Concord Road north of Home Road. This will be done after completion of the road base construction on the south leg of the intersection. More information will be provided when the dates of that closure are available.
The project is scheduled for completion on August 17.
03-28-2012: Trenton Road Closed April 2 for 7 Weeks for Bridge Replacement:
Trenton Road will close west of SR 605 for 7 weeks while crews replace a bridge. The posted detour route uses Miller-Paul Road to Woodtown Road to SR 605 or the reverse.
03-05-2012: Plumb Road Closed for 60 days:
Plumb Road will be closed March 5 for 60 days for replacement of an 11-ton posted bridge just west of I-71. The posted detour uses 3B’s&K Road to Dustin Road to Rome Corners, and the reverse.
03-02-2012: Dustin Road Closed East of SR 3 for 30 days:
Dustin Road will be closed east of SR 3 for 30 days for replacement of a culvert.
